Welcome to the guide of MontyOum’s Dead Fantasy Series…..Warning: This crazily great series was not, I repeat, not made by me. I’m just a fan of the series and thought I’d put together a short overview of the episodes seen thus far…

DEAD FANTASY I: THE AWAKENING

In the first episode of the series, Yuna (FFX) begins running through a mysterious ruin. As it turns out, she is being chased by Kasumi and Ayane (both DOA) both of which are able to block her from running any further. Throughout the episode, a close friend, (Rikku) is able to aid Yuna however an even tougher foe (Hitomi) joins up with the DOA force to bring the Final Fantasy girls down. Outnumbered 2 to 3, and teetering on the edge of a cliff, Tifa (FF7) shows up just in time to knock a few heads and even the numbers….

DEAD FANTASY II: ANGELS AND DEMONS

With the fight evened out (Yuna, Rikku, Tifa) vs (Ayane, Hitomi, Kasumi), things get crazy as the 6 woman brawl heats up. In the beginning the FF girls have the upperhand, with Tifa stopping time in order to mess up team DOA’s strategy. However the DOA girls result to dire measures as Ayane is sent to blow up the ruins in order to try and destroy team FF. Ayane is successful with this as her teammates give her just enough time to finish the job. Team FF survives however, causing the ladies of DOA to chase after them down the cliffs side. After the FF girls gain the upperhand once again, the DOA girls pick up a new ally (Rachel), as she destroys the cliff completely sending everyone to the lava pits below.

Lava Pit: Down below, Tifa manages to save her friends, but pays a hefty price. With Tifa down, the FF girls try to revive her while the DOA girls try to kill them. Tifa regains just enough energy to drink the health liquid and fight off a few of the DOA girls, however everything is almost in vain as the lava pit flows off into a lava fall. The DOA girls manage to escape and the FF girls seemingly fall to their doom….but not before Rinoa (FF8) can save them by freezing the lava. The winged Rinoa floats down and readies herself for battle. Just as the FF girls are about to attack….Kairi (Kingdom Hearts) joins the FF team and helps them try to end the battle once and for all. The battle however grows hectic, and in a last ditch effort, Rinoa creates 5 portals to send everyone away to fight one on one battles with each other (Tifa vs Hitomi, Yuna vs Katsumi, Rikku vs Ayane, Kairi vs ?). Rachel tries to stop her, but in the end becomes captured in Rinoa’s own portal…

DEAD FANTASY III: REDEMPTION

TIFA VS HITOMI

The battle begins with snow falling outside and presents Tifa and Hitomi readying themselves for battle inside a mysterious building. As the fight begins, the two fighters are evenly matched. However, during the fight Tifa appears to have a slight advantage and successfully blinds Hitomi. Hitomi is able to gain her composure and when Tifa runs to finish her off, successfully takes over the battle. Hitomi knocks out some of Tifa’s materia and uses it against her until finally she knocks out all of the materia. This leaves Tifa vulnerable and knocks her out of the castle and through the wall out into the snow. As Tifa gets up, ninja are shown surrounding her….

In the next scene, Helena appeared at the end of part III inside DOATEC, of which she is the heir. She unleashes the Kasumi X clones from the DOATEC lab, though is shown to look hesitant about it. Kasumi X clones were sent to the battle between Yuna and Kasumi.

DEAD FANTASY IV: HOPE

YUNA VS KASUMI

The episode starts off with Kairi landing by an ocean and speeds off to the battle of Yuna vs Kasumi in the grasslands. Kasumi is able to multiply herself while Yuna responses by uses her staff to summon the beast spirits. Yuna’s beast spirits (aeons) are able to defend her in the beginning, however the multitude of Kasumi X copies are too much and each aeon is over run one by one. Yuna ultimately looses her power to summon and is left open for attack. Just as the Kasumi X clones make to destroy her, Cloud appears and uses his sword to blow all the clones away. Cloud and Yuna stand ready to fight, however, Kasumi decided against continuing to fight and escapes with the Kasumi X clones following her. After they leave, Cloud and Yuna leave on a motorcycle going to look for what appears Tifa….

DEAD FANTASY V: LIFE AND DEATH

TIFA VS HITOMI, HAYATE & THE NINJA CLAN

Amidst a burning building, Hayate appears with his clan of ninjas to finish off the badly injuried Tifa, despite Hitomi’s disproval. Tifa tries her best to escape the clan, and makes it to an abandoned building only to have the ninjas along with Hayate catch up to her. In an all or nothing battle, Tifa fights for her life against a mass of ninjas and the deadly Hayate. She is able to get close to Hayate three times, but each time is pushed back. In the end, Tifa is defeated and nearly dead when Hayate takes her body and gives it up to Helena for some unknown reason. Hitomi seems to disagree greatly, but Hayate does not seem to care too much. Helena takes Tifa’s body and brings it on a helicopter as they fly away to an unknown location.

In the next scene, Kasumi is seen dueling what remains of her clones, whom are greatly diminished in number. Just as she succumbs to exhaustion and the clones ready to finish her off, Ryu Hayabusa dispatches them. Momiji then reads Kasumi’s mind, reflecting on the events of the series so far. The three then teleport off.

Finally, Cloud and Yuna arrive in the city just as the helicopter caring Tifa arrives at the same time.

FUN FACT: During her battle with the ninjas, a flashback occurs where Tifa is about to jump off a cliff while Cloud tries to stop her. Shortly beforehand, she tells Cloud, “Trust me”. Directly after this line she jumps off the cliff. She falls and wakes up in the ruins featured in Dead Fantasy II. Next to her is a feather, Rinoa’s motif, leading to fan speculation that Rinoa saved her and transported her to the ruins.
